"House hunting on a Hog!"by Allen Hackmann I have hit the lottery!! Riding my Harley as part of my job Who would have thought that could be possible? I sure didn't. When people think of a realtor they picture a well dressed individual pulling up in a big four door vehicle (a boat) that fits mom, dad and an unspecified amount of sweet (snotty nosed) children comfortably. Every one piles in the car and off they go to look for their future home. Not this realtor, not anymore!! I have found several different reasons to hop on my bike to make my business more economical, efficient, and most importantly much more enjoyable. There are several errands affiliated with buying and selling homes. When I have to drop off legal documents or meet an inspector or appraiser I gladly take the opportunity to ride. I save money on gas which is very economical. It also changes a once tedious task into an extremely enjoyable one. I no longer put off running around which makes me much more efficient. Then there is viewing property with clients. No, I don't stick them on the back of the bike or even in a side car. Many times clients are already out and about or they're just getting off work and it's more convenient for them to meet me at a prospective property. You know what that means I'm showing up on the hog! I also like to visit past present and future clients just to say hello. Sometimes I even bring a small gift. I map out my route and hit the road. I try to schedule three to five visits in an afternoon. My clients love it!! The beautiful thing about it which even caught me by surprise was the fact that it sends a message of SUCCESS. People dig motorcycles; even if they don't ride. You can see it on their faces as soon as you pull up. It always sparks conversation and I haven't met a rider yet that doesn't enjoy talking about how great owning a bike is. How many times have you heard people say, "I want one some day". When they see mine they know I must be good at what I do. It also shows people what you see is what you get. People trust that. So what would you rather do? Get into the back of a big four door
Cadillac or ride in style on the open road to go see your future home. It's no
contest for me!! So allow me to put in a shameless plug if you or anyone you
know would like to go house hunting on a hog
