Comments from
across the pond, on the Wooden Indian.
This tickles me to no end, our little local
web site has a world wide presence on the web, and people actually read it. Who
would have thought...... By the way when was the last time you saw a Nimbus
being ridden
Phil,
Dear Sir,
The wooden Indian was built by
Gaétan Pagé from Quebec, Canada. As mentioned on your page it
took 10 years to build, and at times he felt like setting the whole project on
fire. Fortunately for all of us he held out.
14 different types of wood
are used, all the usual parts like throttle, kickstand, wheels etc. move, even
the electrical system has been reproduced in wood. The wheels are made of
several different types of pine wood.
I'm very pleased to find this
project on your site. All I had was a small photo in an old Cycle World
magazine.
Ride fast, take chances

PS. The enclosed picture shows not me, but a friend of mine. I ride the
same kind of bike, and this shot was better than any of those of my own Nimbus.
