Sunrise has awful customer service. I love my bike but highly regret purchasing it from them. I am an impulsive shopper and sometimes I pay the price for it. Instead of waiting and purchasing the bike from another dealer (skilled with good customer service), I purchased it from Sunrise.

I went in for the initial 600 mile tune up and ended up with a smoking bike about a mile down the road after picking it up. The valves were tapping and oiling was shooting out every where. I took it back, and they supposedly fixed it but the problem was even worst, so I took it back the following morning before going to work, was told that it would take 20 minutes but ended up being an all day endeavor.

I just can't understand how they could screw up on their own model bike. The last time I dropped it off for servicing, I had the same problem, I had absolutely no oil once I took it back. I will never take my bike back there to get serviced.

They don't even greet customers when they enter the show room; very unprofessional.

I bought my bike on May 30,2007. When I bought it I noticed the air filter housing was broke and one of the gripes had a broken end cap. I told my salesman steve and he said no problem I'll get it fixed. Well a month later and it still is not fixed. Also I still have a temp registration which runs out Friday but the lady there told me I'd have my permanent one by wednesday. They make quick sales get you out the door and treat you like crap when something needs to be done. Once if ever I get the work done I will never step foot in sunrise cycle again.worst service iI have ever had. I just wrote to the BBB maybe they can help..stay away from sunrise cycle....trust me...

I bought my 2006 Boulevard in Sept. and it was a great experience, until I got to the delivery anyway.

The sales guy Cody was awesome, for a young guy he really knew his product and job. I went in to look one day and called back to tell him I wanted the bike and would be in the next day, he had all my paperwork ready to sign when I returned the next day and I was in and out very quickly. He said I could pick up the bike after 3 P.M. the next day.

So I call at about 3:30 and service says "yup all ready to pick up", so I get there about 4:00 and Cody gives me a rundown of all the set up that was done and I take note of all the electrical checks that are done pre-delivery. I was actually impressed by all the electrical gizmos on the bike.

Ok all is good let's go fire it up. Then it all goes downhill. I turn the key on (in my boyish like state don't even realize nothing happened) and hit the starter button. Nothing; ok its a new bike so I ask are all the switches and buttons in the right position? Yup. Lets get to the battery and make sure its charged, remove the seat and lo and behold the battery is not hooked up.

The service manager says "Oh we unhooked that when we got done because we didn't know if you were going to get in today (refer back to the conversation at 3:30). Cody who is standing next to me during this whole episode calls BULL**** because he noticed the negative cable hasn't even been routed into the battery box yet. So Cody and I route the cable hook it up and I am on my way.

I get about 250 yards out of the driveway and both mirrors fold back and hit me in the forearms (whoops forgot to tighten them into the handlebars), then I get about a mile from the shop and the gas light comes on which it's supposed to do when you have a little less than a gallon of gas left (whoops forgot to fill the gas tank). So I get all that fixed and ride away for 400 miles. (Break-in service is due)

Call for appointment get told it take two days because they have to adjust the valves and such, drop off one day pick up the next only Mon thru Thur. Ok it won't be too hard to find a ride home one day and to work the next so I go for it.

At 2:45 the second day I call the shop to ask if the bike will be ready around 3:30 when I get off from work. Here is what I was told "the technician is just getting back from lunch and will be starting your bike next". Explain again about how in depth this service is and how long it takes so I can understand why you had to have the bike yesterday morning. So anyway they had my bike for 3 days to do about 3 hours worth of work.

To make a long story short I will give their sales department a A- and their service department a F- .

I'm a newby and I just bought my first bike from Honda of Norfolk. My salesman, Jake Pollard, was extremely helpful and friendly. I got the bike I wanted at the price I wanted. But I did have one concern . . . I had literally just earned my license and was hesitant to take my new bike on it's first drive on I-64 during rush hour." No problem", says Jake, "I'll drive it home for you!". And he did! Now THAT'S service. I just had my initial service performed there as well, and the bike was ready, on time as promised.

All-in-all, I'm one satisfied customer.

D&D Cycles/Triumph
Norfolk
(757) 423-1082
I've been a customer of D&D Cycles/Triumph in Norfolk since the original owner ran it near Five Points in Norfolk back in the '70's. Brian, the head mechanic, bought the shop from the first owner and has run it at the Little Creek Rd. location in Norfolk for over a decade now.

He runs the business and has some very talented mechanics working for him. His wife, Sunny, runs Parts. I doubt there is a bike part made that she can't look up and get for you.

This is a great old fashioned Mom & Pop shop. The way they treat people there is just terrific.

In the last 15 years or so here's some samples of the treatment I have received there:

  • When my Honda was in for a full Service, Brian didn't charge me full price for the service because he only had to check the valves. None needed adjustment. He told me he wouldn't have felt right charging full price since the full price assumed work would have to done to correct the valve clearances. My Honda got it's major service done there every year until I sold it. It always ran great from his care.
  • When I was Leading Petty Officer in the forward Engineroom of a Carrier back in the 90's several of my guys had bought used bikes from D&D. When one broke down out in the countryside, D& D went out there to retrieve the bike and repaired it under warranty. I thought that was incredible to do on a weekend.
  • Since the late 80's I buy all my tires there. Sunny can usually have what I want in stock within a couple days. If I bring the wheel in "off the bike" they'll mount & balance the tire for free while I wait. That's great service!
  • When I needed odd parts to restore my 1986 Yamaha TT225, Sunny was able to get them all for me, even some hardware for the decompression lever. Old Japanees bike parts (Non-Honda) can be tough to get, but she came through for me.
  • When I wanted to find a rubber topped foot peg to replace the solid steel ones on my Guzzi they let me spend an afternoon in their parts loft measuring crashed old pegs until I found one that would fit my Guzzi. Sunny then ordered in all the new parts for me from Kawasaki. Since then a number of Guzzi owners have done the same mod I did to my bike.
  • When I wanted a tank bag for my bike, they had several in stock at really good prices. They didn't even flinch when I asked to take one out in the parking lot to try on the bike. The bag never did come back inside. It was perfect. I bought it.
  • I recently got a couple hours of dyno work done there on my Guzzi for a very reasonable price. It exposed a number of minor problems in the bike that I didn't even know existed. Thanks to that work my bike now makes even more power and torque and runs better than ever.

Anyway, this is just a sampling. I have been a customer there since my teens. I'm now in my 40's! D&D in Norfolk is a great shop! No boutique, I hate boutiques. Just a great shop with great service!
