Quiet weekend.

Saturday I got a visit from an old friend and his brother. Dave and Dan were in town, and they stopped by for a short visit. Dave brought me a tee shirt from his club, the San Diego “Booze Fighters”. Thanks, I will wear that on special occasions. I did make a quick trip out to Boneshakers that evening, the place was interesting, not too crowded when I was there, but it was still daylight when I left, they tend to get active later on in the evening.

On Sunday I stayed around the house for the “Father’s Day” festivities. I got a lot of very nice cards, a big “H D” coffee mug (in case my old FLH comes back), and got taken out to Mexican dinner by my oldest daughter and two granddaughters. I thought it was great! We went to “EL GRAN RODEO” on Princess Anne Road. I could tell immediately that the place was OK, because it smelled like fresh tortillas. Anyway, I abandoned my diet for the afternoon, pigged out on chips and dip, and even had a couple of glasses of Cervesa.

Wednesday I made a trip over to “Five star leathers”, formerly known as “The Leather Lady”. I got a couple of shots of the folks that showed up for coffee and Ice Cream. Mike, Gary, John and I are planning to head for Sturgis, and I wanted to talk a few things over with them. We will be going by truck and trailer. I know I said that I did not want to go by trailer again, but I should know better than to make such a statement.

As with the previous trip, I plan to have the camera along, and will try to get some interesting pictures of the festivities. We are planning on making the trip to Devil’s tower, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Needles highway, Custer and the Painted Desert. If there is any time left over, we will also hit Montana. . . I am optimistic about the trip, and I will definitely let everyone know all the details.

Till next time. . . watch out for the traffic, remember that cage drivers are only partially aware of their surroundings, and that most motorcycles accelerate and slow down at much higher rates than the cagers are ready for. Try not to “catch them by surprise”.
