WELL, ABOUT THE ONLY THING...
I DID THAT WAS MOTORCYCLE RELATED
WAS TO GO TO THE BUSINESS MEETING
ON TUESDAY EVENING

We had a great time discussing the upcoming events for this month. We are planning a St. Patty's day event at Murphy's Irish Pub, I don't want to get into all the details, Gary will take care of that in the Minutes of tonight's meeting, but I do want to try to get as many folks as possible to come by. The owner is going to help us by placing fireman boots out for donations on that evening, and, get this, he will double whatever we take in! The proceeds will of course be earmarked for the burn unit at Sentara. We need to get maximum participation for this one! I plan to show up early and "man a boot", hell, I may just stand on the sidewalk and beg from the passing motorists.

Another big topic was the August ride to Sturgis! We are firm on going to the Glencoe camp ground. This will give us an easy walk across the street to the "Full Throttle" and all the festivities there. I will keep everyone updated as to the status of our 2006 trip to the wild west, and plan to have the camera with me at all times.

I feel the need to explain the apparent "road rash" on my hand. It is not road rash; it is "Tree Rash". It happened last Sunday at my wife's birthday party, one of the party goers decided to climb one of the big pine trees in the back yard, but could not reach the lower branches to get started. I picked her up, and was in the process of assisting her when I lost my balance and got "treed" (darn slick sole shoes, no tread, no traction). As you can see from the pictures though, she did climb quite a ways up in the tree. I was starting to get a little concerned, and was glad to see her get safely down again.

I got an interesting note about the new cell phone policy on the area Naval Stations. It includes CD players, IPods, and anything with a headset or microphone. It is absolutely forbidden to use one of these devices while operating a motor vehicle, bicycle, skate board, or even when walking on the Naval Station. NOW, the first thing that came to my mind was what about motorcycles with built in headsets? I don't want to sound the alarm too early, but I know how some of the military regulations can get twisted around. Especially when it comes to motorcycles. More on this later. I will do some checking, and will post the contents of the instruction. But be warned in advance, I would not be talking on the headset when I pull up to the gate.

Last but not least. The biker eNews staff is having a staff meeting and ride this Sunday. We will meet at "Justin's" (used to be "Uppys") and after some vitally important discussions, we plan to ride out to the site of the old Two Wheel Café, and check out the new Randzz (I think I spelled that right). If anyone feels like joining up with us, please feel free to show up.
