As you can see it’s been some time since I have brought the Shovelhead Diary up to date. Well not a lot has happened on the project since September last year. Life just has a way of getting in the way of the things we want to get accomplished.

I’m having trouble with this project, I can’t figure out why it’s taking so long to get things done. Yes we have had a lot of interruptions, lets see I blew up one motorcycle, replaced it with another changed numerous tires, repaired several other motorcycles and put a new roof on the house along with a new A/C heating unit.

I have actually been working on the old girl, a little bit here and there but for some reason I haven’t made real progress. I worked for a whole day just to get the wiring for the neutral light sorted out and even got it to work. Trouble is I got interrupted before I could hard wire the circuit and now I forgot how it went. I will have to do it all over again.

I did have to do some maintenance aluminum polishing…. All of the aluminum we have polished doesn’t have a clear coating over it to protect it. Its been sitting so long that the moisture in the air is starting to attack it. So I started with the Mother’s polish and got every thing nice and clean once again.

I did work on the exhaust system and got the wiring for the generator sorted out and I will continue to work on the wiring a little each night until its completed.

I still have to work on modifying the intake and mount the new carburetor then it should be time to light off the engine. Gee, I think I said this before….
