The races this past weekend were both Saturday and
Sunday with the 4 wheelers competing on Saturday and the 2 wheel competition on
Sunday. Every class was double elimination and you could sign up in 2 different
classes. There were 41 registered bikes for 4 wheelers and 117 for 2 wheelers.
The 250 to 350 2 wheel class had 25 bikes in it!!
The weather was
great; comfortable and a little breezy. I would love it if every July weekend
was the same. It was great to see Randall Merriweather enjoying the race. He
was the flagman the first few years we competed starting in 2000. We had some
friends join us that had never been before and really enjoyed the competition.
We had a great time on Sunday even with the CR500 shattering a clutch
plate during the practice round. We had an extra set that went in a KTM and had
to modify one to fit. It lasted a couple of rounds before it really busted the
clutch. Jacob was able to come out on top in the Pushrod class with a last
round win against 8 Ball.
There were a couple of bikes that came up on
their riders but no real serious injuries. It was crazy to watch some of them!!
Congratulations to Paul Plummer, Jr. and the Foor Racing Team. I know
they enjoyed taking the win in the Top Fuel A class!! That's what Paul Sr. and
Jason get for missing a race!! Congratulations to Jamie Adkins for another 1st
place in the 301 - 350 4 wheel class. I love to see a girl win and she does it
with style!!
I have to thank Grant Smith for helping out with the
photographs from the last race. They were some great shots. I have always
submitted 12 to 15 but will up it to around 20 since it looked so great!!
The next race is August 16 with a rain date of August 23. Come on out
and join the fun!!
