We raced on Sunday, June 21, Father's Day. A
Belated Happy Father's Day to all of you out there. It was a warm, sunny day
with lots of gusty wind. There were 19 classes with 113 registered riders.
Something has gone wrong with my digital camera. All of the pictures I
took are gone. The crazy thing tried to say it needed to be formatted when I
tried to review. I even took it to one of those photo machines at the drug
store and it said there was nothing on there. It never once acted weird during
the day either. So if anyone has some pictures they could send in, I would
greatly appreciate it. To the little girl on the pink camouflage 4 wheeler,
we'll make up for it next race.
Race day won't be the same for a
while. JC Martin's Top Fuel A bike, #1 destroyed the crankshaft near the end of
the day in May. He is having a hard time finding a replacement at a reasonable
price. That bike always creates excitement when it is on the track. It's fast,
loud and it makes the ground shake.
Jason Plummer has moved his bike
up to Top Fuel A with a new tire configuration. He's got two tires on the back
that are just about as wide as JC's tire. That was another great picture I
lost.
There are always issues during the day but this race was one of
the worst I have seen. The bad part about scoring issues is that it takes the
tower forever to get them corrected. They just don't have a handle on how to
keep things straight. It would help if the same people were up there two races
in a row but that doesn't seem possible either. I guess they get just as
frustrated doing the job as we get putting up with them!!
The next
race is July 18 and 19. This is the best race of the year with 4 wheelers
competing on Saturday and 2 wheelers on Sunday. Plus it's double elimination
for everyone.
